The locals would say that Kya Clark (Daisy Edgar-Jones) was a feral child after all of her family left her alone in their marsh home at just 10 years old. They even called her "Marsh Girl" and whispered rumors about her all her life. What they didn't know about her though is that she is wildly intelligent and when a local fisherman's son, Tate (Taylor John Smith) teaches her to read and write, the pair fall in love. When he goes off to college, Kya finds herself all alone again and meets the local hotshot Chase Andrews (Harris Dickinson), who makes her feel seen and loved again. So when Chase turns up dead in the marshlands, the townspeople immediately point their fingers to "Marsh Girl" for his murder based on their love affair. Now Kya is on trial for murder, being judged by a biased group of townsfolk who loved the popular Chase and fear the outsider with a rumored past.  The young girl faces spending the rest of her life in jail or even worse, the death penalty, as she fears she will never see her beloved home and marsh again in this coming of age tale set in the 1950s deep south.  While there is a little bit of sexy good times, it's mostly just some shirtless stuff from the two competing for Kya's love, Taylor John Smith and Harris Dickinson, who both pop their tops as the drama unfolds!
