Review

Seven years after the original Alien movie redefined the sci-fi genre, 1986's Aliens, director this time by James Cameron rather than Ridley Scott, proved itself a worthy successor. Sigourney Weaver's iconic character Ellen Ripley is back to battle not a singular alien, but many many aliens who have decimated a terraforming colony. The alien eggs were on a spaceship that crashed into the colony, and it is only late in the movie that Weaver finds out that the profit-motivated corporate representative Burke (Paul Reiser) ordered the colonists to collect the eggs in the first place. He intended to profit off of the aliens by weaponizing them for the military. Interestingly, this theme of profit over people would follow director and writer James Cameron throughout his career. All of this is well and good, but why are we really here James? That would be for the eye candy. Bill Paxton plays a private and Michael Biehn plays a corporal, and both strip down to their matching boxers. That'll have a facehugger popping out of your pants!
