Alone Together (2022)

Set during the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Alone Together finds June (Katie Holmes, who also wrote and directed the film) trying to get to an Airbnb in upstate New York to ride out what she assumes will be just a few weeks of global chaos with her boyfriend John (Derek Luke). But John decides to spend the pandemic with his parents instead and when she arrives, it turns out the Airbnb has been double booked and a man named Charlie (Jim Sturgess) is already staying there. The two decide to share the house for the duration and that of course leads to some fairly typical rom-com fumbling, like June accidentally walking in on a naked Charlie in the bathroom (giving her, and us, a nice peep at Sturgess’s super cute bumcakes). But the awkwardness and uncertainty quickly turns to a connection via deep conversations and various bonding experiences. We totally get it - we’d want to be locked down with that tempting tush too!
