Atypical (2017)

No Nudity

Review

Years before the reality TV show Love on the Spectrum had America obsessed with how people on the autism spectrum find love, Netflix's comedy Atypical (2017) addressed the same issue in a fictional way. 18-year-old Sam (Keir Gilchrist) is a penguin obsessed, incredibly socially awkward high schooler on the autism spectrum. He's incredibly lonely, so him and his therapist (Amy Okuda) decide that it's time for him to find love. Sam's new goal in life is to seek out a girlfriend, but that's much easier said than done. His overprotective mom (Jennifer Jason Leigh) freaks out at the prospect, while his dad (Michael Rapaport) starts to resent how much energy the family has to devote to taking care of all of Sam's needs. Since Sam's social skills are atrocious, he reaches out to his goofy coworker who thinks he's a ladies' man Zahid (Nik Dodani) for help, and all sorts of cringey hijinks ensue. Most of the comedy comes from Sam's attempts to get a girlfriend despite being such a strange guy. But don't worry, over the course of the four seasons the show ran from 2017 to 2021 he'll end up with an equally quirky babe named Paige (Jenna Boyd). Sam is on the spectrum, but Raúl Castillo is on the SEXtrum. The raunchy Raúl rips his bong in his boxers after sex with Sam's mom. We like this guy's style! Admiring his lean abs is definitely making us feel high. Graham Rogers is equally as gorgeous when he shows off his tight bod while making out with a girl in nothing but his jeans! Pound for pound, ounce for ounce, gram for gram, he may well be the hottest dude on the show! Take it all off, Graham! All those hot ass dudes in a show about living with Aspergers? Atypically is atypically sexy!
