Basket Case 2 (1990)

You won’t have to watch Basket Case (1982) to understand Basket Case 2 (1990). But you will need to have seen a lot of horror flicks to get the jokes in these spooky movie spoofs. Under the pen and direction of Frank Henenlotter, this second installment follows Duane Bradley (Kevin Van Hentenryck) and his mutant twin brother Belial (Dominic Marcus). After the two were surgically separated from one another, twisted twin Belial was bound in a basket to hide from the prodding paparazzi (Matt Mitler), persistent press (Jason Evers, Kathryn Meisle) and news anchors (Judy Grafe, Chad Brown). Luckily, Granny Ruth (Annie Ross) and her granddaughter Susan (Heather Rattray) let the Bradley bros hide out at their home which is a haven for deformed freaks. As such, we meet Frederick the Pinhead (Sturgis Warner), Frog Boy (Tom Franco), the Man with 27 Noses (Michael Rogen), Mouse Face (Deborah Bauman), Platehead (Nick Roberts), Worm Man (George Andros Aries) and a body-less soul named Eve who Belial winds up falling in love with. Meanwhile, Mr. Man can’t help but fall in lust with Mr. Van Hentenryck when he flashes his Van Abs at the 34-minute mark. Nothing scary about that! Even though he doesn’t expose his junk, the handsome hunk lets us see his prosthetic body wounds. If that’s not satisfying enough, Kevin also shows off his nude booty! No wonder, this pic spawned the sequel Basket Case 3: The Progeny (1991). Needless to say, we can’t wait for Basket Case 4: The Peen-ogeny!
