Review

In this unflinching look at the opioid epidemic, we follow troubled teenager Henry (Alex Wolff).  The only caretaker for his single mother (Neve Campbell) who is dying of cancer; Henry finds himself getting deeper into his Jewish faith while giving his mother her pain medication on a daily basis, but also seeing the struggles she is having with balancing her fight for survival with her need for the medication.  After giving her a fatal dose of her medication to end her suffering, he finds himself deeply depressed, disbelieving the faith he holds so close, and also with a cabinet full of super strong opioids...  Enter his troubled yet charming neighbor Ana (Imogen Poots) who is openly struggling with addiction, trying to get bogus scripts filled at the pharmacy and desperately needing a fix.  As these two befriend each other, Henry finds himself following Ana down the wormhole of addiction, depression, crime, and survival all in the wake of his mother's death.  As this movie is definitely tackling a more serious subject matter, there isn't much to report on the sexier side of things, but we do get a chance to see the ever gorgeous and uber-talented young hunk Alex Wolff in a couple of make-out sessions with his girlfriend, as well as a tame shower scene where he shows us some bare shoulders from behind.  To quote South Park, "drugs are bad, mmm-kay!"  So definitely stay away from opioids if possible as they take the gorgeous Alex Wolff and spin him out of control in this drug-centric drama and it's not a pretty situation in the real world either, kids!
