The Wizard of Auz hits the Big Apple in the action comedy Crocodile Dundee (1986). Thanks to the direction of Peter Faiman, we get to meet Michael J. “Mick” Dundee played by Paul Hogan, who co-wrote the screenplay with Ken Shadie and John Cornell. With his trusted buddy Walter Reilly (John Meillon), the Australian crocodile hunter (Hogan) runs a safari business in the Outback for tourists. When Mick survives a croc attack, New York journalist Sue Charlton (Linda Kozlowski) heads to the Land Down Under to get the scoop on the quirky aquatic reptile wrangler. After saving Sue from a run-in with another crocodile, the appreciative reporter invites him to visit NYC. Even though city life starts to wear on Mick, he learns to overcome his fish-out-of-water problems and falls in love with Sue. Of course, you’ll fall in lust with Mr. Hogan when you get a gander at his rugged, sun-kissed physique. Even though the handsome hunk doesn’t expose his junk, he does flash his awesome abs as he soaks in a relaxing bubble bath. Rub a dub dub! Needless to say, this flick was a massive hit. Not only did it bring in millions at the box office, it raked in critical praise and several accolades including Oscar and BAFTA nominations for Best Original Screenplay. Plus, Paul won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Comedy. Since then, Mr. Hogan appeared in Crocodile Dundee II (1988), Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles (2001), and Crocodile Dundee in Mr. Man’s dreams!
