Emmanuelle 2000: Emmanuelle In Paradise (2000)

Brief Nudity

Review

Directors Fred Olen Ray and Udo Blass put a twenty-first-century spin on the enormously successful Emmanuelle franchise with the chic and post-modern Emmanuelle 2000: Emmanuelle in Paradise (2001). Made close to thirty years after Sylvia Kristel made ripples as the bored, sexually adventurous wife of a French ambassador, the film finds Holly Sampson inhabiting the role of the scandalous, upper-crust nymphomaniac. In Ray and Blass’s incarnation, a high-tech headband allows its wearer to enter the body and mind of anyone they desire. In a bid to spread her sexual joy, Emmanuelle loans the band to a wheelchair-bound friend (Shauna O’Brien), allowing her to vicariously share in the madam’s randy adventures. These include trysts with a bare-backsided Brad Bartram, and an-of-movie escapade with Steve Curtis that starts out in tiny red briefs and ends with fully bared buns.
