Fairyland (2025)

Fairyland is an equal parts heartwarming and heartbreaking tale of a young girl growing up with her gay father at the height of the hippie movement in San Francisco, leading up to the AIDS epidemic of the 80s, based on the memoir by Alysia Abbott. When she loses her mother, Alysia and her father, Steve (Scoot McNairy), fulfill his dreams of becoming a professional writer by moving to the storied hippie epicenter of Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco. Despite fathering a child with a woman (his best friend), Steve is gay, and Alysia sees a string of men come in and out of his life at the group home they live in. One of these is Eddie (Cody Fern), and we see him shirtless in the tub as young Alysia quizzes him about his testicles! Scoot McNairy very briefly shows his booty when he wakes up in bed naked to answer the phone. This Fairyland could use a gland!
