Big dicked Ben Affleck make his feature directorial debut with Gone Baby Gone (2007), an adaptation of the book of the same name by Dennis Lehane (Mystic River, Shutter Island). Ben cast little brother Casey Affleck in the lead role of Patrick, a private investigator in Boston who gets involved in the case of a missing four-year old girl after her mother (Amy Ryan) pleas for her daughter's safe return on television. Using his connections in the various criminal circuits, Patrick soon discovers that the missing girl's mother is working as a drug mule for a Haitian kingpin named Cheese (Edi Gathegi) and this may be some indication as to who would want to kidnap the girl. Of course, the deeper Patrick digs, the more nefarious the case becomes, with a conspiracy at play involving some higher ups in the Boston Police Department, as well as an ever-tangling web of various other parties with a vested interest in keeping the kidnapping out of the headlines. While not a tremendous success upon initial release, the film marked the beginning of Affleck's directorial career which would see him direct the Best Picture-winning Argo (2012) just five years later! This is an early indication of his talent behind the camera, even though it may seem on paper like a vanity project designed to launch his directing career and his brother's leading man career. As for Casey Affleck, he does appear shirtless in the flick, showing off his lean, mean physique, but any hopes of seeing him nude in this flick are Gone Baby, Gone!
