Johnny Be Good (1988)

Johnny Be Good (1988) is a teen sports comedy starring young fresh-faced Anthony Michael Hall, Robert Downey Jr., and Uma Thurman. Hall plays the titular Johnny, who despite his short stature and slim build, proves himself as the hottest football prospect in America. But when college recruiters come calling, he finds himself torn between offers that will send him far outside his hometown while his girlfriend proposes he stay at a local state college with her and foucus on his studies. Will his love for her outweigh his career ambitions? More importantly, will Hall or Downey be dropping drawers? Afraid not, but we do get to see Robert twice in his boxers, first surrounded by topless women in a motel room, and later in a jail cell, same attire. We sure wouldn’t mind being locked up with Downey, looking thin and fit before his Iron Man days. Johnny Be Good may not have been very good according to critics - you’d be hard pressed to find a single positive review. But as a memento of one of the biggest movie stars in his youth, strutting around in his skivvies, you could do worse.
