The irreverent romp A Fish Called Wanda (1988) delivers laughs and lust. Thanks to a script by Monty Python’s John Cleese and director Charles Crichton, this hilarious heist hit will have you chuckling all the way to the spank bank. Set in London, the plot begins when British criminal George Thomason (Tom Georgeson) and his animal-loving sidekick Ken Pile (Michael Palin) join forces with American scammer Wanda Gershwitz (Jamie Lee Curtis) and weapons expert Otto West (Kevin Kline) to steal some diamonds. Otto is Wanda’s lover but he pretends to be her brother so she can seduce the hot jewels off of Ken and George. Along the way, she meets and falls for a married barrister named Archie Leach (Cleese). As you can guess, mayhem ensues when the scheming thieves double-cross each other. Will George and Ken be outsmarted? Will Archie leave his wife for Wanda or will she return to Otto for some brotherly love? And, most importantly, will we get to see any dudity? We’re glad to report that Mr. Cleese sheds his threads. Fast forward to the 01:12:00 mark to see the topless actor tout his chest as he prances around in his bulging briefs. If that’s not arousing enough, he pulls down his undies to give us a look at his bare buns and a peek at his peen! No wonder John won a BAFTA for Best Actor. Not to be outdone, Kline received an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor — and a standing ovation in our trousers!
