MacGruber (2021)

For something that started out as an absurd sixty second SNL sketch, MacGruber has had nearly nine lives by now. Will Forte has been sporting the dirty blonde hockey hair mullet, flannel shirt, and utility vest as the titular MacGyver knockoff since his early days on SNL in the early aughts. The character then made its way into Super Bowl commercials co-starring Richard Dean Anderson, before finally becoming a major motion picture in 2010, the first SNL movie since The Ladies Man (2000) a decade earlier. Although the film bombed at the box office—they put it out in May, what were they thinking?—it quickly garnered a cult following thanks to the film's purposefully antagonistic and petulant tone that plays like gangbusters for a lot of folks. While talk of a sequel rumbled on for years, nothing ever came of it and the whole franchise seemed dead. Until streaming came along and revived tons of beloved properties as enticements to subscribers. MacGruber's 2021 revival on Peacock is in very much the same vein as the 2010 film, with Ryan Philippe and Kristen Wiig returning as Piper and St. Elmo. Also along for the ride this time are some big name guest stars like Laurence Fishburne, grizzled hunk Sam Elliot, and your friend Billy Zane. Will Forte hyped up the show pre release saying that he had a lot of nude scenes, including some full frontal. He shows his bare ass a lot in the first two episodes and Fishburne goes shirtless for a sex scene with Wiig, but we hope we get some of that long promised cock soon!
