Risky Business

Risky Business (1983)

No Nudity

Review

Mr. Man might not know everything about the movie business, but he's pretty sure having a prime Tom Cruise dance around in his tighty whities is a pretty good way to get people to see your movie. Writer/director Paul Brickman must've figured the same thing when he stuck the instantly iconic scene into the 80's classic Risky Business (1983). Cruise stars as Joel Goodson, a high school overachiever trying to get into Princeton. When the suburban Chicagoite's parents go off on vacation, Paul embarks on a on a wild week of dancing, drinking, wrecking dad's Porsche, and ordering the high-priced prostitute Lana (Rebecca De Mornay). After a skinful night with Lana, Cruise finds out that Lana's pimp Guido (Joe Pantoliano) stole his mom's priceless egg and refuses to give it back unless he pays him big money. Worse, Lana wrecks the Porsche, and the price to repair it is absolutely exorbitant! What follows is the cream of the teen sex comedies of the '80s, which ends with Cruise pimping Rebecca's stable to his horny schoolmates for all sorts of cash, and even managing to turn his Princeton interview into giving the admissions guy an amazing screw. But somehow there's no Tom Cruise full-frontal shot? As Joel would say, "What the fuck?" Well, at least there are two good skin scenes. In the first one, we see Tom lying in bed jerking it to the idea of plowing his prudish, brunette high school girlfriend, before he decides to recruit a professional to do the jerking for him. But of course, the best scene in the movie is when Tom strips down to his sunglasses, a dress shirt, and tighty whities, slides across the floor and boogies down to "Old Time Rock & Roll." The bulge and wedged buns we see will really soothe your soul! Thanks to the scene that launched a million Halloween costumes, Risky Business will have you wanting to do some frisky business!
