The Assignment (2016)

Apparently the assignment to title The Assignment (2016) was hard since the crime flick goes by way too many names, including Tomboy, Revenger, (Re) Assignment, and Tomboy: A Revenger’s Tale. Under the direction of Walter Hill (who co-wrote the script with Denis Hamill), the action thriller follows a killer who is betrayed by the gangsters he works for. As such, he falls into the hands of Dr. Rachel Jane (Sigourney Weaver). She’s a talented albeit rogue plastic surgeon who gives the guy gender reassignment surgery without his consent. When he wakes up, the dude looks like a lady. Now, with the help of Nurse Becker (Ken Kirzinger), the assassin — Frank Kitchen (Michelle Rodriguez) — is on a mission to find the physician to seek revenge. Along the way, we encounter Honest John Hartunian (Anthony LaPaglia), Dr. Ralph Galen (Tony Shalhoub), Dr. Lin (Terry Chen), Paul Wincott (Paul McGillion), Edward Gonzalez (Zak Santiago), Johnnie (Caitlin Gerard), and Joe Cadigan (David Jacox). The latter actor proves to be a real scene stealer when he goes full frontal 48 minutes into the movie. As his character bangs a babe in bed, we can see his big bare back. But once Ms. Rodriguez busts in and shoots him dead, Mr. Cadigan somersaults backwards from the bullet’s impact. In other words, he shows off his chest, pubes, balls and peen. No wonder, David is known as Mr. Jacox! Even though this pic has a low score on Rotten Tomatoes, the flesh flashed feels fresh to us!
