The Israeli-made slice-of-life The Bubble (2006) plunges viewers into the day-to-day comings and goings of Tel Aviv, as viewed through the eyes of a young soldier named Noam (Ohad Knoller). The title is a play on the idea that residents of Israel’s capitol city are isolated from the turmoil that’s constantly raining down on the rest of the country. Noam’s security and familiarity are turned upside down when he leaves his ID at a checkpoint, and it’s returned some time later by Ashraf (Yousef “Joe” Sweid)—a Palestinian. Noam lives with a gay man and a straight woman, and the set-up knocks Ashraf for a loop.

Sweid does his bit for world peace when he knocks boots and butts with a handsome, hairy Israeli.  After they’re done building cultural bridges and basking in the afterglow we get a look at Sweid’s bubble laying on the bed.  It’s tight, round and the kind of seat meat that can inspire peace.
