Walk on Water (2004)

Eyal (Lior Ashkenazi) is an Israeli agent who has a license to kill in Walk on Water (2004), an intense drama that follows the Mossad assassin as he attempts to lose himself in his bloody work when he finds that his wife has committed suicide. Before he can return to killing, Eyal must be evaluated by a therapist, so he is given the simple task of getting close to the Pia and Axel (Carolina Peters and Knut Berger), grandchildren of a surviving Nazi war criminal, in hopes of finding his evil ass. Eyal goes undercover as a tour guide, and he falls for Pia while growing fond of Axel, an openly gay dude who stirs emotions in the agent that helps him heal from his wife’s suicide, and confront his long-standing homophobia. Lior and Knut alleviate the heaviness of the film by showing full frontal in an outdoor shower scene. It’s not overtly sexy, but the beefy bookends will have you walking on air.
