Lipstikka (2011)

Set in middle class London, the emotional thriller Lipstikka (2011) follows Lara (Clara Khoury), a Palestinian woman who has carefully avoided the dark side of her youth spent in Ramallah and her relationship with her childhood friend Inam (Nataly Attiya). Fast-forward thirteen years and Lara has a husband, Michael (Daniel Caltagirone), a son, and they’re comfortably nestled in the suburbs. Lara’s life gets rocked when she meets up with Inam and the two of them discuss the prank they pulled as teenagers that set off a twisted set of occurrences and events. It seems like each woman has a slightly different interpretation of what occurred that fateful night, leading to an unforgettable reunion between the one-time friends.
