The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling (1997)

Great Nudity!

Review

18th century social norms, family duty and class are all at play in the 1997 adaptation of Henry Fielding’s novel of the same name The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling. Born to a wench, Tom Jones (Max Beesley) is discovered abandoned at Squire Allworthy’s posh estate, where he is raised into a fine young man. When he falls for Sophia Western (Samantha Morton), a wealthy neighbor’s daughter, social norms dictate that the lovebirds shall never be together. The novel was known and wrongly criticized for its inclusion of prostitution and promiscuous sex, and luckily this adaptation remains faithful with a nice shot of Beesley’s banging booty! Yes, we’d like to fondle this foundling.
