Twice Born (2012)

Penélope Cruz plays a hot Italian mama with a complicated past and a string of ex-husbands in Twice Born (2012). Not to be confused with the James Bond flick You Only Live Twice (1967), this R rated drama is based on the award-winning novel by Margaret Mazzantini. The action begins when Gemma (Cruz) and her teenaged son Pietro (Pietro Castellitto) travel to Sarajevo, where she used to live with her second husband, American photographer Diego (Emile Hirsch). Along the way, we encounter Gemma’s psychologist (Jane Birkin) and doctor (Branko Đurić), her wartime friend Gojko (Adnan Hasković), his wife Aska (Saadet Aksoy) and mother (Sanja Vejnovic). Alas, Gemma’s journey provides more traumatic memories than pleasant souvenirs. Nevertheless, she learns how to deal with loss and realizes the power of love. Under the direction of Sergio Castellitto (who co-wrote the screenplay with Mazzantini), the movie includes Fausto Russo Alesi, Juan Carlos Vellido, Luca De Filippo, Luna Zimic Mijovic, and Mr. Hirsch’s hairy body! During a flashback (or should we say, fleshback?), the nude dude shows off his abs, shaft and ass while taking a bath with Ms. Cruz. But all too soon, they fall asleep in the tub. No wonder he says, “The weirdest love stories are always the best.” Even though critics dissed Twice Born, this sexy scene made a splash in Mr. Man’s pants! Also known as Venuto al mondo, this skinternational film features dialogue in Bosnian, English, and Italian. But when Emile appears in the buff, there’s no need to talk!
