We Are the Wave (2019)

Brief Nudity

Review

We Are the Wave (2019) is an adaptation of Todd Strasser's 1981 novel "The Wave." You may have read that book in middle school, since it was all about a California teacher trying to teach his class how The Nazis came to power by having them form a fascist club. This one flipped the idea on its head, by focusing on a group of lefty environmentalists who take their anti-fascist adventures to increasingly disturbing levels. Airing on Netflix in 2019, the show follows Lea (Luise Befort), a rich high school girl who is disillusioned how the people around her don't care about the environment the way she does. At school, she starts growing close with Tristan (Ludwig Simon), a charismatic charmer who the victim of racist bullying Rahim (Mohamed Issa) looks up to. Together with Zazie (Michelle Barthel) and the farm boy Hagen (Daniel Friedl), the group form "The Wave," a sort of environmentalist and anti-fascist club. Things start out with low level crimes, but soon enough they're full-on terrorists poisoning right wing leaders and making sure everyone in The Wave falls in line. Ludwig Simon is our leading man who leads the revolution, and it's not hard to see why. Like a version of Che who's cool with you being gay, he's a chiseled piece of political perfection! We see him shirtless in more than one scene including a sex scene that offers the side of his rump. In another scene, he strips nude to show his full ass. We'd love to spank that thing and see what kind of waves we can make! Mohamed Issa also bares buns when he's trashing a car and moons the drivers. Meanwhile, Luis Pintsch and Daniel Fried stay a little more clothed when they are merely shirtless. We are horny. Hopefully, they can ride the nudity wave next time!
