In the Cut (2003)

From his nude debut in XX/XY (2002) to his Oscar-nominated performance in Poor Things (2022), swarthy Mark Ruffalo has been flaunting his bare ass on screen. So, it’s no surprise he did again (and then some) for In the Cut (2003) since it’s directed by Jane Campion who rose to fame for making the erotic drama The Piano (1993). Based on Susanna Moore’s same-named novel from 1995, this R-rated flick follows Frannie (Meg Ryan), a shy English teacher living in the Big Apple. When a series of gruesome killings occur in her hood, sexy Detective Giovanni A. Malloy (Ruffalo) begins to investigate. Yet he seems more interested in uncovering Frannie’s clothes since the two strike up a torrid affair. Be prepared for some hot, twisted and throbbing action as Mark takes his skinsposure to new heights. He engages in repeated sexcapades, delivering an under-lit but illuminating full frontal shot. What a private dick! While basking in his afterglow, we can’t help but notice his fleshy pistol and shield are surrounded by a lush pubic forest. If that’s not arousing enough, Mark struts his stuff in the buff. Not to be outdone, John Graham (Kevin Bacon) exposes his six degrees of pecs. The movie also includes Jennifer Jason Leigh, Patrice O’Neal, and Nick Damici. As Detective Richard Rodriguez, the latter actor whips out his hard cock (which is actually a prosthetic penis). Maybe that’s this mystery movie’s biggest twist. In other words, Ruffalo’s real thing is the most thrilling part of this thriller!
