Betrayal (2013)

At one time, ABC covered political secrets on the prime time soap opera Scandal (2012-2018), familial vengeance on the small screen saga Revenge (2011-2015), and infidelity on the sexy series Betrayal (2013-2014). Not to be confused with the Thai show The Betrayal (2022), this American drama focuses on photographer Sara Hanley (Hannah Ware) who falls in lust with attorney Jack McAllister (Stuart Townsend). Judging by his black hair and dashing accent, we can’t blame her. The only problem is both of them are already married to other people. What else would you expect from a show called Betrayal? If cheating isn’t problematic enough, the plot reveals a pesky murder trial that involves both Sara and Jack — on opposing sides! Speaking of sides, we love looking at any side of Mr. Townsend’s fit frame. Even though he’s clothed throughout the run, every now and then he is allowed to flash the appropriate amount of flesh for network TV. In other words, we get to see Stuart’s bare chest when he goes boating in episode 4. The arousing image makes Mr. Man want to raise his sail! Too bad, the series didn’t also see a rise in the Nielsen ratings. Otherwise, it may have lasted for more than just one season. Yes, the promising production was canceled despite boasting an impressive ensemble cast including Henry (E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Gangs of New York) Thomas, James (Babe, L.A. Confidential) Cromwell, and Brendan (Secrets and Lies) Hines. Nevertheless, we look forward to a reboot with dudity!
