The Canadian horror comedy Bitten (2008) is the rare non-Kevin Smith directed starring vehicle for Jason Mewes, who stars as a paramedic getting fed up with working the graveyard shift, a feeling that is only exacerbated by the fact that his girlfriend just dumped him. However, when he finds a young woman named Danika (Erica Cox) bloody and abandoned in an alleyway, he takes her in and offers her medical care.
