Don't Answer the Phone! (1980)

Don't Answer the Phone embodies classic 80s horror flicks to a T, all the way down to the title. In this round, a Vietnam vet/porn photographer named Kirk Smith begins terrorizing and murdering women of L.A., all while phoning in to young psychologist Lindsay Gale's radio show to tell her about his gruesome acts - and sometimes force her to audibly witness them. The cops are after him, but he's already selected Dr. Gale as his latest victim. Phones aren't really part of the plot here, but that is beside the point; Kirk is played by Nicholas Worth, who goes shirtless several times to weightlift, canoodle with a victim, and pray. Or something that looks like praying. It's hard to tell. Either way, we like it.
