Frontalwatte (2011)

German director Jakob Lass’ first feature length effort as a film director, Frontalwatte (2011) is said to have inspired all the American "mumblecore" filmmakers when it became the talk of the cinematic world! The film follows the lives and times of young Berliners Franz (Franz Rogowski), Adrian (Simon Finkas), and Anastasia (Paula Schramm). The three are constantly trying to discover who they really are as people, which can be tough when you are constantly altering yourself in order to adapt to situations, as they quickly discover. While they mostly spend their time doing drugs, going to poetry slams, and hanging out in big money apartment buildings by pretending to be potential buyers. But it's not long before Franz finds himself in a wild situation. During one of his tours, he meets a seductive older woman named Ursula (Gabi Herz), who has an insatiable lady boner for her teenage son Adrian (Simon Finkas), which she thinks she can tame by using Franz as a sort of sex stand-in. As if that wasn't weird enough, eventually Adrian will find out about the arrangement and things will truly take a turn for the bizarre. Yeah, yeah, yeah, is there full-frontal or watte? There sure is! Our pal Franz has to use the bathroom at one point, and after taking a leak with his back to the camera, he ever so kindly turns around and goes full Frank and beans to the wind, turning around toward the camera with his large member still hanging out. No matter what personal struggles Franz runs into in his life, he’ll always have his best friend hanging between his legs. Talk about a German sausage!
