The film that made Russell Crowe a bonerfide sex symbol, then set the internet on fire years later when word came that the now massive star had once ridden bareass and bareback on a horse on film, Hammers over the Anvil (1993) stars Crowe as horse trainer East Driscoll. In 1910's Western Victoria, Australia, East is the coolest man in town thanks to being young, cocky, handsome, and a bit of a badass known for being able to break any horse. We'd sure like to see if he could ride us! Crippled with Polio, he's the hero of young Alan Marshall (Alex Outhred), who spends his time longing to be like East and longing to end up in bed with British babe Grace McAlister (Charlotte Rampling). Grace is married, but it's not long until she falls for the charms of East and starts an illicit affair. Wandering into the barn at the wrong time, Alan will find out what's going on between them, which puts him in an uncomfortable position. Alan's obsessed with riding a horse despite his disabilities, so East says he'll help him in exchange for silence. Will Alan get on the horse or spill the beans as East attempts to get Charlotte to run off with him? Russell Crowe brings his rugged good looks to this Aussie drama and even gives us a glimpse of his little Gladiator (2000). In a scene where he is in a river swimming naked while washing off his horse, we get a great view of his bubble butt. He then climbs on the horse and rides it out of the water while still nude. As he mounts up there is a quick shot of his thick, impressive meat sword. Now that thing's something to crow about! This movie was filmed a few years before L.A. Confidential (1997) would make Mr. Crowe a megastar that the whole world wanted to nail, even if he was never hotter than in Hammers Over the Anvil
