AMC's period drama series Hell on Wheels lasted five seasons by taking all that "with malice toward none" stuff and throwing it away in favor of telling a revenge tale about an ex-Confederate tracking down the war criminals who killed his wife. A Western set in post-Civil War America that revolves around the construction of the First Transcontinental Railroad across the United States, the show focuses on Cullen Bohannan (Anson Mount), a Confederate soldier bent on exacting revenge on the Union soldiers that killed his beloved wife. He was a slavedriver before the war which the ruthless businessman (Colm Meaney) tasked with building the Transcontinental Railroad makes him the perfect guy to make sure everyone is working as hard as they can. Taking the job as a good cover to head out West and track down his wife's killers, Cullen will eventually need to take on Natives, Mormons, and all sorts of other people trying to stop the traveling "Hell on Wheels" gang from laying down their tracks. To make sure the trains reach the West, Cullen will have to team with the freed slave Elam Ferguson (Common), the Cheyenne turned Christian trying to get the Natives to back down instead of fighting, Joseph Black Moon (Eddie Spears), the inked-up hooker Eva Toole (Robin McLeavy) and the head of security known as The Swede (Christopher Heyerdahl). And you can be sure he's gonna find those Sherman's Marchers! We never get to see the former soldier in grey doing anything gay, but there is some sexiness thanks to all the railroad workers hiring hookers nearly constantly. There are a lot of gunfights and punch-ups, but there’s not much skin. In season four, episode five, the handsome Jonathan Scarfe shows off his rugged body while banging the town whore. Some whores have all the luck! Meanwhile, Jake Weber shows his chest while canoodling with his gorgeous wife. Mr. Man would love to let those hot as Hell dudes run a train on him!
