Indian Summers (2015-2016)

Set in 1930s India towards the end of the British Raj’s rule, the 2015 Brit boob tube mini-series Indian Summers presents the transition between the British Empire and the birth of modern India. The stuffy drama focuses on Ralph Whelan (Henry Lloyd-Hughes), the private secretary to the viceroy of India; his beautiful sis Alice (Jemima West), mysteriously alone, with child, trying to pass as a widow; Aafrin (Nikesh Patel), a worrisome clerk who always tries to keep the peace; Sooni (Aysha Kala), his sister, a political agitator of sorts; Dougie (Craig Parkinson), the bad dude on the show; and Cynthia (Julie Walters), a cigarette-smoking dame who finds herself at the center of Indian society. All these characters deal with the quickly changing political landscape in their own ways, leading to plenty of conflict and drama but very little skin. Season one, episode two of the series gave us a look at the hunky Edward Hogg as he enjoyed a relaxing bath. Looks like summer is heating up!
