Number 24 (2024)

This Netflix original biopic tells the story of Gunnar “Kjakan” Sønsteby, a famous resistance fighter from Norway during World War II played by Sjur Vatne Brean in his youth (then Erik Hivju in later years). We see his transformation from being an apprentice accountant to a spy sabotaging the Nazis while painting the hero as a flawed individual fighting against oppression by any means necessary, no matter how disturbing. The film doesn’t shy away from scenes of torture or nudity, including one with both where Aidas Asmonas gives new meaning to “smokin’ hot body” when he goes full frontal while getting his face melted by a space heater. 24 is the minimum number of times you’ll pause to try and get a better look at his sizzlin’ sausage!
