Revolution has never been a dirty word to sexy starlet turned brainy intellectual thespian Jane Fonda, and she seems wholly natural as a hot spinster English tutor who stumbles upon the Mexican revolution in Old Gringo (1989). Tired of the formal gridlock of pre-World War I Washington, D.C., society, adventurous Jane journeys to the sands of Mazatlan and takes a job teaching a family of rich oppressors. Before the kids can master their ABCs, Jane becomes enchanted with expatriate American author Ambrose Bierce and dives into bed and conspiracy with one of Pancho Villa’s top generals.
We could smite Smits in this film. With only one sexy moment to recount, just as the going gets good, the camera pans so far way from the action, we too might as well have left the room. Don’t have high hopes of seeing Jimmy Smits’s jimmy in this movie.
