Possession (1981)

Before the American thriller Possession (2009) and the French-Israeli crime flick Possessions (2020) were released, moviegoers went to see the chiller diller Possession (1981) from France and Germany. Under the pen and direction of Andrzej Żuławski, this psychological horror drama kicks into action when a spy named Mark (Sam Neill) learns that his wife Anna (Isabelle Adjani) wants a divorce. As you might guess, the poor guy can’t deal with the news so he becomes obsessed with finding out why she wants to leave him. Turns out the lady is a tramp with another lover (Heinz Bennent). While Mark deals with this revelation, he meets his young son’s teacher Helen who just happens to be the spitting image of his cheating spouse. For playing both roles, Ms. Adjani was named Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival. Once Helen starts hooking up with Mark, he begins to discover that his wife’s love life may be more complicated and terrifying than he initially thought. We won’t spoil the climax for you. However, you may spoil your pants when you get a gander at Mr. Neill’s body. Fast forward to the 56-minute mark to ogle Sam’s abs and ass. If that’s not erotic enough, he also flashes his sack and shaft. Nothing scary about that! It’s been decades since this pic came out so it’s time for a reboot. Word has it that Robert Pattinson will star in the remake. Needless to say, we’re waiting with masturbated breath to see Bob in the buff!
