The New Zealand drama Smash Palace (1981) revolves around the titular location, a car wrecking yard, where former race car driver Al Shaw (Bruno Lawrence) dwells with his dreadfully unhappy wife Jacqui (Anna Jemison) and daughter Georgie (Greer Robson). To cure her unhappiness, Jacqui begins banging her hubby’s best friend, local police officer Ray Foley (Keith Aberdein).
