What are the odds that two short films would come out in the same year with the same title? There’s Canada’s gay drama Tapette (2016) written and directed by Olivier Perrier. And then there’s France’s gay comedy Tapette (2016) directed by Satya Dusaugey (who co-wrote the screenplay with Julien Guetta). In English, the first flick is translated into the F-word (and we don’t mean the one you’re thinking of). However, the latter film’s translation is a little nicer since it also goes by the title Pansy. Of course, a better name would be Handsy since that’s what you’ll be after seeing the pic’s plentiful dudity! The farcical plot begins when Michel (Dusaugey) is set to marry Charlotte (Caroline Anglade), the girl of his dreams. But when the groom-to-be starts to think of the commitment he’s about to make, Michel gets cold feet and convinces himself that he might be more into dicks than chicks. As such, Michel makes a move on a swarthy dude named Thierry (Karim Saidi) who is bathing outdoors in his briefs. Kudos to the skinternational mise en scène! Before you can say “Liberace” the two men shed their threads. Soon, they’re holding hands and frolicking in a field wearing nothing but a smile. In other words, we get to see their collective pecs and buns. If that’s not hot enough, the two expose their pubes and junk! Even though the gents don’t kiss, they do dance and prance around in the buff. Forget Tapette, we’d like to Tap-it!
