The Man in the Attic (1995)

Based on a true story, the boob tube romantic drama The Man in the Attic (1995) stars Anne Archer as Krista Heldmann, a bored housewife of a garment factory owner Joseph (Len Cariou). When the couple’s son dies, Krista releases her motherly love and her adulterous lust on Edward Broder (Neil Patrick Harris), an eighteen-year old student. To keep her boy toy close, Krista hides Edward in the attic, hence the title of the film, and he only emerges when Joseph heads to work. The attic-dwelling dude soon finds himself falling passionately in love with Krista, but the adulterous lady still has an eye for other dudes. But all good things must come to an end, and the twenty-year affair eventually ends on a violent note.
