While they ruled the big screen for decades, these days Westerns have to be a little bit weird to capture filmgoer's attention. To that end, the cult classic cannibal horror flick Bone Tomahawk (2015) is much stranger than the classic tales of gunfighters we got a ton of in the 1950's. Seamlessly blending elements of western and horror, Bone Tomahawk follows the tale of four men who venture out into uncharted territory in attempt to rescue a group of captives from a bizarre race of cannibalistic cave dwellers, or Troglodytes. It's the 1890's and a scumbag thief named Purvis (David Arquette) comes running into the town of Bright Hope telling a wild tale about cannibal Native Americans. Sheriff Franklin Hunt (Kurt Russell) locks him up, then sends brooding gunslinger John Brooder (Matthew Fox) to get the doc's daughter Samantha (Lili Simmons) to come care for his wounds. Deputy Nick (Evan Jonigkeit), the doc's daughter and Purvis are left alone, only to get kidnapped by the Troglodyte Native Americans. Setting out to rescue them, the Sheriff, Brooder, and Samantha's husband Arthur (Patrick Wilson) find these inbred cavemen and do their best to avoid becoming a tasty meal. A film so thrilling that you can’t look away, it’s Deputy Nick (Evan Jonigkeit) that will really have your eyes glued to the screen. This X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) star is stripped naked by the savages, and we have front row tickets to the skin show. Staying true to their name, the savages strip him naked, hold him upside down, then savagely murder him. Butt the view of his tasty seat meat was nice while it lasted. It's a creepy spin on the classic genre, but at least there's one boner inducing scene in Bone Tomahawk!
