Grandview, U.S.A. (1984)

Grandview, U.S.A. (1984) is a great 80s flick about a young man who is about to graduate high school. He is a big time dreamer and he is about to go on a scholarship to study oceanography. His father really wants him to do that, but he decides to dream big. He wants to renounce his scholarship, ditch his future plans, and focus on going after his dreams. He dreams of moving away from his hometown of Grandview, U.S.A., which is a typical small American town. Can he get away from all of this and follow his dreams? Can anyone? Those questions of dreams vs. the expectations that your family and home place upon you are explored in this classic 80s film with a stellar cast. Patrick Swayze stars as Ernie 'Slam' Webster and he is a total slam dunk when he goes shirtless. Then we have the young, sexy John Cusack as Johnny Maine. You will want him to be your main squeeze when he is shirtless, too. Finally, C. Thomas Howell plays Tim Pearson and he lets us pear into his beautiful shirtless body in a straight sex scene with Jamie Lee Curtis. That's right - Jamie Lee Curtis is his love interest in the movie. They have sex in one scene and in another scene, Jamie and C. Thomas Howell both take off their tops and play matador in their cars in an empty track for demolition derbies. If these hunk men are in Grandview, then we never want to leave.
