Masquerade (1988)

In between the crime comedy Masquerade (1965) starring Cliff Robertson, the TV series Masquerade (1983-1984) featuring Rod Taylor, and the Bella Thorne chiller diller Masquerade (2021) with Austin Nichols, came the R rated flick Masquerade (1988) showcasing the onscreen charisma of Rob Lowe. Even though many critics weren’t exactly thrilled with this sexy thriller, flesh fans will appreciate the skin it delivers. Thanks to a script ghostwritten by Larry Brody, viewers meet an heiress named Olivia Lawrence (Meg Tilly) who falls for a young yachting captain called Tim Whalen (Lowe). But he appears to kill her alcoholic stepfather Tony Gateworth (John Glover) when caught rocking the boat in bed. In other words, if being hot is a crime, consider Tim guilty as charged! Of course, there are so many twists and turns in the plot, it’s hard to keep track of who is doing who and what. Nevertheless, we must assess the motives of Anne Briscoe (Dana Delany), Officer Mike McGill (Doug Savant), and Cop #2 (Boz Scaggs). Don’t ask us who plays Cop #1. Last but not least, there’s blonde babe Brooke Morrison (Kim Cattrall) who catches the eye (as well as another body part) on Captain Whalen. Just four minutes into the movie, we’re treated to a shot of Rob’s tight booty as he plows a naked Kim. The topless actor also bares his beautiful backside while he’s fooling around with Ms. Tilly at the 30-minute mark. As you can guess, when Rob goes Lowe, Mr. Man’s pants go high!
