Review

Jones is a common name in the USA — as well as in the entertainment industry. How else can you explain the popularity of the Indiana Jones franchise (1981-2023) as well as the Bridget Jones film series (2001-2025). That’s not to overlook Carmen Jones (1954), Cleopatra Jones (1973), The Bawdy Adventures of Tom Jones (1976), Me & Mrs. Jones (2001), and Free State of Jones (2016). Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention Mr. Jones (1993). Not to be confused with the horror flick Mr. Jones (2013), this romantic pic features Richard Gere, Lena Olin, Anne Bancroft, Delroy Lindo, and an uncredited Bill Pullman. The drama follows the titular construction worker (Gere) who is misdiagnosed as schizophrenic. While undergoing psychotherapy, Mr. Jones arouses more than a professional interest from his shrink Dr. Elizabeth “Libbie” Bowen (Olin). As she wrestles with her inappropriate feelings for her patient, you may be wrestling with your zipper — especially when you get to glance at the abs and gams on the leading man in the shower. Not only are we treated to a view of Mr. Gere’s wet pecs, he reveals his man bush! Perhaps that’s why the orderly is singing as he scrubs Richard up. Suffice it to say, watching the naked star being washed gives us dirty thoughts! It’s too bad not a lot of people have seen this film. Believe or not, it was a box office flop. Nevertheless, Mr. Man gives its sudsy scene two thumbs and one cock up!
