The sports flick Number One (1969) follows a famous football quarterback played by Charlton Heston, who is on the verge of being considered washed up. As what looks to be his final season in the pros drudges on, he finds himself embroiled in a world of drugs, booze, and womanizing, which may just put an even earlier end to his career than he had initially anticipated. The film is probably best known for its final shot, meant to echo the famous picture of former quarterback Y.A. Tittle, crouched on the field and bloodied following the sack that would end his career. It's also best known as the film where Charlton Heston did his first and only full frontal scene, though that version is sadly thought to be lost to history, and all that remains now in the shower scene is a nice shot of him from above the waist! Too bad we may never again get to see Chuck's li'l Heston!
