Phaedra (1962) is a retelling of the Greek myth of Phaedra, which all you scholars out there might remember centers around a woman falling in love with her stepson and trying to get revenge against him after getting turned down. Director Jules Dassin wrote this one to make his future wife, Melina Mercouri a star. Melina is Phaedra, a young and fierce hottie married to the older, extremely wealthy shipping magnate Thanos (Raf Vallone). Thanos has a son in his early twenties named Alexis (Anthony Perkins), who opts to come back home to Greece and hang out with his father all summer. Immediately, Phaedra starts lusting after his hot young body, and since the director would never have his wife getting rejected in a movie, Thanos complies to her carnal demands in a snap. But since he's a good son, after all that action Thanos starts to regret having sex with her. Eventually, a scorned Phaedra will spill the beans and like all Greek myths this one will end in tragedy. What's tragic is how little dick we get, with Anthony Perkins not even giving us a shirtless scene! If Mr. Man had married the rich Greek dude and adopted the trophy husband life; he'd have had no problem staying faithful. Unlike that guy's wife. Not only because he is rolling in dough, but because Raf Vallone looks like a total fox when he goes for a long, shirtless swim. Sure, it's in black and white but the retro chest fuzz on Raf is a site to behold! Shirtless looks great on Raf, even if he doesn't have the abs and delts the beefcakes of today possess. One of the original "stepson" flicks, Phaedra will have you touching your phallus!
