Priest (1993)

The artsy drama Priest (1994) co-stars Linus Roache as Father Greg, a Catholic Priest stationed in a parish in Liverpool. Torn between church dogma and his personal needs, Greg doesn’t do well with the whole celibacy-thing that comes with the job, much like his superior, Father Matthew (Tom Wilkinson). But while Matthew keeps his carnal desires in-house, discreetly pumping the housekeeper, Greg slips out at night and cruises the gay clubs for some hot and heavy hookups. Everything begins to change when the gay God-boy falls hard for Graham (Robert Carlyle), a dude he met at a bar. As Greg continues to struggle with his sexual identity, especially in regards to Catholic teachings, he encounters Lisa (Christine Tremarco), a fourteen-year-old girl who, while in the confessional, admits to being molested by her father, Mr. Unsworth (Robert Pugh). Oh, no. When Mr. Unsworth confirms his daughter’s allegations during confession, telling the priest that he doesn’t plan on stopping his molesting ways. Now the onus is on Greg to either violate the anonymity of confessional silence or speak up and put an end to Lisa’s abuse. There’s a lot of drama and emotions in this film, but not much flesh. Linus Roache and Robert Carlyle doff their shirts to get more intimate during their bawdy rendezvous. The dudes of Priest will have you sinning with yourself!
