While comic book adaptations weren't exactly new to The CW teen lineup, few people could have suspected they'd have a smash hit on their hands when they put together a gritty adaptation of the Archie comic books! But Riverdale isn't the Archie you're used to, it's a darker, more mysterious take on the classic teen series. Often described as a mix of Twin Peaks and The O.C., the show lasted seven seasons between 2017 and 2023 and centered around a murder that turns the small town of Riverdale on its head. Jason Blossom (Trevor Stines) is believed to have drowned just before the school year starts, but a bullet wound in his body has the whole town convinced he was murdered. Ends up Jason knocked up Betty's (Lili Reinhart) sister Polly (Tiera Skovbye) who got sent off to a nunnery. Convinced she can crack the case; Betty and her buddy Jughead (Cole Sprouse) decide to solve the crime themselves. Star football player Archie (KJ Apa) discovers a USB in Jason's jacket showing him getting killed, which briefly takes his mind off the teen love triangle he finds himself in. But while our crew of teen crimesolvers think they can figure out who killed Jason, the truth is that Jason's death is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of Riverdale's insanity. From bear attacks and underage pole dancers to evil twins, organ harvesting cults, and tickle porn fetish webcamming, Riverdale was one of the wildest rides on television. What'll get your blood flowing is the fact that the man meat abounds on Riverdale. The piece we're most interested in is the insanely hot K.J. Apa as Archie himself. Watch as Apa peels off his shirt in front of the window while onlooker Kevin Keller (Casey Cott) exclaims "Archie got hot!" He stays hot throughout the series, especially in season 2 when he gets out of a steamy shower and shows off his six pack in the mirror. And then, well, Apa (as well as his sexy costars like Charles Melton and Cole Sprouse) take off their shirts so many subsequent times that summarizing them would be pointless.
