Crime gets exported to Los Angeles from Japan in the silly action flick Samurai Cop (1991). When the deadly Yakuza, the Japanese mafia, comes to LA to peddle their felonious ways, the titular law enforcer, Joe “Samurai” Marshall (Matt Hannon), ditches his beat in San Diego and heads to the City of Angels to assist LAPD officers Frank Washington (Mark Washington) and Peggy (Melissa Moore) in taking down the troublesome Katana gang, led by the ruthless Fujiyama (Cranston Komuro) and his pesky henchmen Yamashita (Robert Z’Dar) and Okamura (Gerald Okamura). It seems like Matt Hannon spends more time walking around in his skimpy underwear, bedding babes than fighting crime, and the same goes for Gerald Okamura. Oh, well. Their low budget script is certainly our gain!
