Failed novelist and depressed teacher Miles Raymond (Paul Giamatti) and hammy actor Jack Cole (Thomas Haden Church), whose last TV appearance is long out of syndication, embark on a road trip through California’s central coast wine country in celebration of the aging thespian’s impending nuptials. Excessive inebriation, indiscriminate seduction, and prominent product placement for Barely Legal magazine are all touchstones on this wrenching, hilarious path to wisdom and enlightenment. Plus, Mr. Church blesses us with a glance of his bare buns as he vigorously pounds Stephanie (Sandra Oh) in a hotel room romp! Based on Rex Pickett’s 2004 novel of the same name, Sideways gained a bunch of accolades. In fact, the R rated dramedy received an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay (Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor) as well as Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Director (Payne), Best Supporting Actor (Haden Church) and Best Supporting Actress (Virginia Madsen). The movie also includes Alysia Reiner, Jessica Hecht, Marylouise Burke, Stephanie Faracy, and MC Gainey’s T&A! While playing a hubby with a chubby for his wife Cammie (Missy Doty), MC goes full frontal! If that’s not arousing enough, the flesh-flashing fornicators are also dirty talkers — and Miles is peeping just outside the door.
