TAPS (1981)

Comely cadets at Military Academy Bunker Hill go to extremes to save the school they love from closing in the box office hit TAPS (1981). Based on Devery Freeman’s novel “Father Sky” (1979), the thrilling drama kicks off when the school’s board of trustees decides to sell the institution to real estate developers. This means war to Cadet Major Brian Moreland (Timothy Hutton who was nominated for a Golden Globe), Cadet Captain Alex Dwyer (Sean Penn in his movie debut), Cadet Captain David Shawn (Tom Cruise in only his second film), Cadet First Lieutenant Edward West (Evan Handler), Cadet Plebe Charlie Auden (Brendan Ward), Cadet Plebe Derek Mellot (John P. Navin, Jr.), and Cadet Bug (Billy Van Zandt). Will the boys succeed in their plan or will the sheriff (James Handy) stop the violent action before one of the students gets hurt, or worse? Under the direction of Harold Becker, the PG rated movie includes George C. Scott, Giancarlo Esposito, Ronny Cox, and Mr. Penn’s pecs! During a group shower scene at the film’s 30-minute mark, Sean bares his back as well as his abs as he scrubs himself up. Rub a dub dub! Of course, the steamy scene really starts to sizzle when Mr. Cruise cruises in to show off his youthful skin. In addition to touting his naked chest, the rising star probably made the members on audience members rise when he flashed his fine fanny on camera. As you can guess, Mr. Man would love to tap Tom’s ass!
