With each decade comes a new film trend. The 1930s are known for screwball comedies; the 1940s for film noir flicks; and the 1950s for technicolor musicals. During the 1960s and ’70s, the industry experienced a studio shakeup which ushered in Spaghetti Westerns and exploitation pics. However, this rebellious phase ended in the 1980s with a slew of teen sex comedies. Next came the 1990s which are synonymous with erotic thrillers. But even before Basic Instinct (1992), Body of Evidence (1993) and Disclosure (1994) were released, we were treated to Under Suspicion (1991). Set in England, circa 1959, the R rated flick follows a corrupt private dick named Tony Aaron (Liam Neeson). He’s such a baddie, he pimps out his wife (Maggie O’Neill) so she can set up cheating husbands in adultery scams. It’s a good idea until she ends up dead in a hotel room with famed painter Carlo Stasio (Michael Almaz). Tony’s old partner is assigned to investigate the murders, and things get awfully murky when Aaron and the victim’s mistress Angeline (Laura San Giacomo) become the prime suspects. Luckily, flesh fans won’t have to wait long to see Liam’s schlong since he bares all during a steamy shower scene just two minutes into the movie! Not to be outdone, Ben (Lee Whitlock) goes full frontal as he and his gay lover Roscoe (Stephen Moore) jump out of bed when they’re rudely interrupted by the fuzz. If being sexy is a crime, consider all of these guys guilty as charged!
