Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985)

Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985) is the fifth installment in the Friday the 13th franchise, but many consider it to be the worst. Why? Because, despite the name and what the movie would have you believe for well over an hour, Jason isn't in it. At all. Yes, this thriller takes place directly after Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984) where young Tommy Jarvis (Corey Feldman) managed to kill Jason with a machete. Years later Tommy (John Shepherd) is now an adult but was so messed up by his run-in with the hockey mask wearing killer of Camp Crystal Lake that he's been living in various psychiatric hospitals and halfway houses his whole life. While he's at a place called Pinehurst, all sorts of his friends start getting killed by a man in a hockey mask, and Tommy is convinced it's Jason! Spoiler alert, it's not. It ends up being a copycat killer (Dick Wieand) who goes nuts after one of the dudes in the nut house kills his son (Dominick Brascia). Yes you heard that correctly, there is no Jason Voorhees in the entire movie. Obviously, this is a controversial installment in the franchise, which was actually rather controversial when it was released thanks to all the sex and drugs in the movie. Sure, most of the nudity comes from the ladies, but not all of it. With no Voorhees, you'd better bring the sleaze! The juicy John Shepherd loses his shirt at the 26 minute mark. We get a great look at John’s amazing abs while he pops a couple pills. That'll have you going crazy over him! If only he'd kicked off a nude beginning! We get two John’s for the price of one in this film because John Robert Dixon gets shirtless too! John shows off those perfect pecs at 45:06 when he gets shirtless to toss some stones into a pond. John can throw his stone into our pond any day! With all those toned fellas, we're beginning to appreciate Friday the 13th: A New Beginning!
