The Advocate (1993)

The Advocate (1993) is also known as The Hour of the Pig, but not to keep it from being confused with the iconic LGBTQ magazine. Instead, the UK got the full version of the film under its original title, whereas the USA got a heavily edited one thanks to Harvey Weinstein essentially reediting the thing for Miramax. Insert your "disgusting pig" joke here. But that's not to say it isn't a compelling tale of when the law meets the farm. In the film, viewers are placed in fifteenth-century France where young lawyer Richard Courtois (Colin Firth) has just settled into the countryside to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city. It’s a simpler place filled with simpler minds, which is how he finds himself representing a pig that’s been accused of murder. The problem is that the pig is the only source of food for the winter that its owners Mahmoud and Samira (Sami Bouajila and Amina Annabi) can count on. Plus, it's not long before Richard falls in love with Samira and becomes heavily invested in proving that the pig has been framed. Eventually Richard will uncover a giant political conspiracy and do his best to bring it to light. Who cares about the pig, is there any porking? Yes, Colin Firth will do a little boinking during his quest to save the thing that's oink oinking, which allows us to see his buns! Colin shows his can when a farmgirl wakes him up looking for some early morning cock-a-doodle-doo! And oh boy, does he give it to her! Then, we see both Ian Holm's heinie and Colin's keester when the pair spend some time together at a steam bath. The story behind the movie is kind of gross, but we'll advocate for any movie that shows us Colin Firth giving a farm babe every inch of his girth!
