Yanks in the United States will want to deposit foreign assets into their spank banks after watching Fidelity (1999). Not to be confused with the Russian drama Fidelity (2019), this French drama is an updated version of Madame de La Fayette’s novel “La Princesse de Clèves” (1678). Under the direction of Andrzej Żuławski (who also wrote the screenplay), the racy romance centers around Clélia (Sophie Marceau), a Canadian photographer who works for a tabloid called La Verite in Paris. The rag is run by Rupert MacRoi (Michel Subor), who used to date Clélia’s mother (Magali Noël). Meanwhile, Mr. MacRoi’s daughter Genièvre (Julie Brochen) is engaged to a publisher called Clève (Pascal Greggory) but he’s in love with Clélia. As such, he flashes his back, ass, abs, sack and shaft while bedding his beloved. Granted, she’s already shagged a hockey player (Thomas Marty) after photographing his naked body in the locker room. In other words, we get to see Mr. Marty’s full frontal nudity as well as his raw rump during a vertical hump with Sophie! As you can tell, it’s all very French. In fact, the motion picture picked up European prizes: Ms. Marceau was named Best Actress at the Cabourg Romantic Film Festival, where Mr. Żuławski received the Golden Swann Award. And all of us here at the Mr. Man offices were won over by the movie’s nudity! Check out the scenes where a photographer named Némo (Guillaume Canet) goes topless and then bottomless. No wonder everyone wants to find Némo!
